Why test for feline calicivirus
FCV is one of the most common causes of upper respiratory infection in cats. It spreads through secretions and contaminated surfaces and can cause sneezing, discharge, painful mouth and tongue ulcers, fever and sometimes lameness. Kittens, unvaccinated cats and cats in shelters and catteries are most at risk.
Who uses it
Animal shelters and humane societies, cat rescues and foster networks, TNR programs, catteries, cat cafรฉs and veterinary clinics.
Common questions
Calicivirus or herpesvirus?
